School-Age Afterschool Program – CLOSED

As of right now we are NOT CURRENTLY OFFERING School-age after-care due to staffing shortages. We may reconsider in the future. Thanks!

This program offers parents a slightly longer work day or just a bit of free time, and offers students a various opportunities to build Social Emotional skills, as well as participate in exciting offerings and adventures. Click here to see some of the summer camp and afterschool outings!

As with all of our programs, Social Emotional well-being is our top priority. Thus, an essential component of the afterschool program is offering children space to voice feelings and ideas, to work through conflicts with one another, and even to brainstorm solutions to challenges they are facing outside of Patchwork. Students learn NVC (non-violent communication), as and collaborate as a team to make group decisions. The mixed-age group allows for mentoring and learning from one another, and students also at times have opportunities to interact with the preschool students.

In addition, students can champion ideas such as field trips, group or individual projects, they can ask for support with homework, or take some time to rest and get a snack after a long day.

For me, it’s so helpful to have a few extra hours during the week and extremely convenient when the van picks them up.  I also appreciate that this helps reinforce the social emotional learning that occurred during her preschool years and gives her an outlet to work through some of the school day stresses.

If your child attends Louisville Elementary School, Fireside, or Coal Creek, we are now offering transportation from school to Patchwork!

We hope you will Join Jason and Sam this fall for this exciting opportunity!  What a great way to keep in touch with your Patchwork roots while moving out into the wider world!

My child likes the freedom to explore, spend time in nature, and build relationships. My child feels respected by the teachers and has learned good conflict resolution skills.

We love to collaborate with homeschooling families, so please do let us know if you’d like to take a tour to check out any of our programs, including the aftercare and summer camps.  We also have more information and resources for Homeschoolers here.
